Projection becomes a mechanic of mirroring, where qualities are displaced
onto another entity in the system. The system takes what is unacknowledged
in the player’s behaviour and surfaces it through the entity’s
response. The displacement is never transparent, never labelled.
The player encounters their own patterns as if they belonged to
something else. “Projections change the world into the replica
of one’s own unknown face” (CW 9ii, para. 17).
The camera never leaves this page: nothing is recorded, nothing is sent;
the figure is condensed from movement alone.
